Chailey Cording

Director of Admissions and Outreach & Co-Founder

Chailey began working in the mental health field in 2012 after struggling with and overcoming her own traumas and substance use issues. She has worked in a variety of positions in the behavioral health world including direct client care, operation management, admissions, and clinical outreach. She has seen first-hand the toll that untreated trauma and mental health issues can take on a person’s well-being and overall feeling of purpose. As a result, she has found passion in helping others find self-love and healing, learn how to live purposeful lives, and pay it forward. She truly takes a whole-person approach which encompasses body, mind, and soul when speaking with those seeking help. She believes the increase in trauma, mental health issues, and drug and alcohol abuse is a direct result of cultural, biological, and environmental factors as well as a lack of awareness around trauma and its effects on a person’s well-being. After 10 years working in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, Chailey saw and recognized the dire need for a program where individuals can truly heal from their trauma. Chailey has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University. Outside of work, Chailey loves spending time with her husband, her toddler, and her rambunctious Siberian husky, Hank.

Sarah Sheridan, LMSW

Clinician

Sarah comes to Healing Foundations Center with over 10 years of experience. She has a plethora of knowledge in providing therapeutic support in several modalities including individual, couples, group and family therapy. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees from ASU in psychology and Social Work and is highly trained in trauma-informed practices, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Polyvagal theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, EFT, person-centered therapy, and attachment theory. She continues to further her training in these and other areas to expand her toolbox and has come to Healing Foundations Center to deepen her knowledge of a more holistic approach to mind-body therapeutic support. It is incredibly important to Sarah to provide mental health support through a trauma-informed lens, knowing that emotional safety and connection are of the utmost importance. Sarah’s goal is to empower her clients by encouraging them to give themselves full permission and advocate for their own needs to be met. When a client experiences a sense of agency in their life, it can have a regulating effect on their nervous system, which allows for healing to take place. The therapeutic practices that Sarah uses at HFC include a short-term approach that expedites a clients process and addresses deep-seated traumas to eradicate unhelpful behavior patterns. When working with clients, she believes in creating a therapeutic container that draws out the clients’ innate intelligence and a sense of safety that fosters emotional regulation, adaptive neural networks and healing.
